Selection
The primary selection process occurs intramurally at each League university or college through a process developed by the member school. The member school chooses its Fellows for each session. The Posse Foundation also selects two Fellows for each session.
In addition, the League conducts an “at large” process for candidates from schools that are not League members. At-large nominees are placed in a pool for examination by a League committee, which determines which nominees will become Fellows.
All Reconciliation Fellows must have outstanding academic records and must have demonstrated in a distinctive way a capacity for leadership. In addition, each must possess a willingness to engage with other Fellows who come into the conversation bearing different backgrounds and views.
The process of selecting Reconciliation Fellows occurs in the Fall semester and there are important deadlines that must be met in applying. Interested students at League schools should check with the Campus Reconciliation League Liaison. Students at schools that are not members of the League should apply directly to the League through the portal provided.
Not at a member school?
The “at large” slots are filled by the Reconciliation League administrative team through an open process that allows students from any non-member school to apply. The League selection committee will award approximately 15% of the fellowships for each cohort through this process.
Each applicant is free to craft a presentation of his or her case for selection; however, no applicant will be considered unless the application is supported by a recommendation letter from the Dean of the applicant’s school warranting that the applicant meets League standards for admission. Each application must contain:
